If you want to see the future of many herbicide applications, look to the skies! “Aerial drones are revolutionizing the agricultural sector,” says Dr. Vijay Singh, a Virginia Tech weed scientist who conducts a lot of research in precision weed management technologies.  

In the U.S., drone use has begun to move beyond just mapping and scouting efforts into actual herbicide applications, playing catch up with countries like Japan, China and South Korea, Singh says.
